Skiing in Erzbebirge Mountains
Europe is a mesmerizing continent to explore. It’s quite easy to spend a lifetime hopping from one country to another. There are the beautiful seas and beaches in Greece – seas that stretch out so far, it looks as if they’re touching the sky. One beach, Elafonissi, is where the sea is so unbelievably blue and the beach is covered in pink sand from tiny shells that have crystallised. The rest of Greece is sprinkled with beautiful olive groves, big juicy fruits that are heaven to bite into, and old monasteries, some which are dilapidated but defiantly stand, giving you a glimpse into what history still wants you to see.
The streets of London are fascinating places to walk down. There’s the oh-so-busy Oxford Street - with its miles of shops, shops and more shops, and its constant stream of shoppers and workers, it’s like an ongoing party throughout the day. There are other popular attractions like Big Ben (the biggest chiming clock in the word), Buckingham Palace (the Queen’s main residence) and St Paul’s Cathedral (one of the scenes in the bestselling novel and movie, the DaVinci Code). However, London offers much more than that and it would be a shame not to explore them. For instance, there’s the Royal London Hospital in the East End where John Merrick (The Elephant Man) lived. There’s a secured but unkempt plot in North London where a debtors’ prison once stood. It was there that William Shakespeare’s father was imprisoned for a year when Shakespeare was 12 years old (and quite close to where he lived). There are a whole range of hotels and pubs across London laden with history and interesting architecture, some which are said to be haunted.
For those who are keen on winter sports, Skiing Erzgebirge (Skifahren Erzgebirge) is one activity they should consider putting at the top of their to-do list. Erzgebirge is in Saxony in Germany and is known for its really beautiful mountains and diverse landscape. In fact, its mountains are considered to be one of the most beautiful in Germany. With a varied landscape of mountains, valleys, streams and forests, the Erzgebirge Mountains is even said to house several rare plant and animal species.
The Erzgebirge Mountains offer skiing across all levels so it’s great for beginners who’ve never tried it as they’ll be in good hands. It’s also perfect for those who are more experienced and are looking for more challenging slopes to explore. However, for those who aren’t really into skiing, there are other winter sports on offer such as snowboarding, ice skating and snow hiking which are definitely worth exploring even if it’s just once.
There are a whole range of accommodation services in Europe to suit most people’s pockets - from the lush 5-star hotel to the mid-range hotel to the sparse but clean lesser-star hotel. Accommodation in Hotel Erzgebirge Mountains (Hotel Erzgebirge), for instance, is both affordable and wonderful to be in as quite a few of them are located where one can enjoy great views of the surrounding mountains and landscape.
There is so much to discover in Europe. Whether it’s London, Greece, Italy or Saxony, it offers an unforgettable experience and a pocketful of memories to treasure.
